Au pair post Brexit

As of 1st January 2021, the UK saw the end of free movement. There is currently no longer an official route for EU au pairs to enter the UK.
Who can apply?
We are now only able to place candidates who are:
-
British & British Overseas Nationals
-
EU Nationals with UK pre-settled status https://www.gov.uk/settled-status-eu-citizens
-
T5 Youth Mobility Visa Holders (E.g. Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Canada) https://www.gov.uk/youth-mobility
-
UK Ancestry Visa Holders https://www.gov.uk/ancestry-visa
-
T4 Student Visa Holders (if the visa clearly states that work is indeed allowed. Typically hours are limited to 20 hours per week). https://www.gov.uk/student-visa
Pre-settled status
If you arrived to the UK before 1st January 2021, you should be eligible to apply for a pre-settled status, which will ensure that you are free to travel in and out of the UK without problem.
Upon successful application, you should be granted up to 5 years to spend living and working in the UK.
The deadline for applying is
30 June 2021 but the au pair candidate must have arrived in the UK before 31st December 2020 to be eligible.
Hopes for the future
We sincerely hope that the UK government will re-think their judgement and reinstate the au pair programme in the UK. We will continue to lobby and raise awareness of the issues caused by these new regulations.
